SO!!! CUTE!!!

This is one of those books that made me seriously contemplate not sleeping just to finish it first.

In Instant Karma, we follow Prudence Barnett, a chronic overachiever who tends to be judgmental of the people around her. One day, she wakes up to find that she has the sudden ability to cast instant karma on others - all but Quint Erickson, her slacker lab partner and enemy.

I've never read about sea animals so in-depth before (the book made me google baby sea otters and I agree, they are super cute), and the focus on music too!! The characters really had very interesting hobbies and alksfjalljaflll so cute.

I will admit, when I was first starting to read the book, I was quite annoyed with Prudence's character and how judgmental she was. Thus, I wasn't sure whether I would enjoy the book afterwards. Furthermore, this book is 400 pages long (according to Goodreads). My first thought was, "Why is this contemporary so long?" However, it really didn't take long before I got to the point where I didn't want to stop reading and, like I mentioned above, almost forgo sleep to finish this book.

Apart from that, the plot got a bit predictable, and the conflict that happens, despite the fact that we were building up to it this whole time, gave me a bit of whiplash. The karmic justice plot points did read as if they were for a younger intended audience. But it doesn't take away from how much I enjoyed this. Many heart eyes and squeals given while reading this book.

Looking at the various Goodreads reviews on this book, it also seems that for once I am in the minority where I really, really enjoyed a book whereas others are finding it to be not as good. No matter what anyone else says, this book will definitely hold a special place in my heart *heart-eyes emoji*.
